    Herschel Moore has taught English in high school and college and is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He holds the Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and has done extensive post-graduate work, including an internship in Clinical Pastoral Education and participation in The Summer Programme in Theology at the University of Oxford, The Ecumenical Dialogue with Franciscan Friars at Centro Pro Unioni in Rome, and the Kirkpatrick Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is the author of At Bethany, a collection of sermons and essays published in 2010.

                Herschel and Yolanda have been married since 1972. They have two married children and six grandchildren.
